For the beauty of the earth by John Rutter has been a favorite of choirs around the world ever since it was composed in 1978, dedicated to Rosemary Heffley and the Texas Choral Directors Association. This arrangement for flute choir can be performed in two ways, either entirely by flutes, or in combination with a mixed SATB choir. The upper four parts in the score (marked "chorus") can be replaced by vocalists using the choral version of the piece published by Oxford University Press. Optionally, the ensemble can be augmented by a harpist or pianist using the part provided, or by playing out of the choral edition.

This arrangement of Franz Schubert's Introduction and Variations on "Trockne Blumen" was masterfully created by Gudrun Hinze for her flute quintet, Quintessenz. In this arrangement, the original flute part has been split up, with the intention that every member of the flute group gets a chance to perform parts of the themes. Although the original score appears to be only a duet between the piano and the flute, you will be able to discover the rich polyphony of the composition even more easily when the piece is played by five instruments. Instrumentation: 3 C Flutes (2nd Flute doubles Piccolo), Alto Flute, Bass Flute

The Danse Macabre was originally composed in 1872 for voice and piano. Two years later, Camille Saint-Saëns arranged the song for orchestra. The human voice was “replaced” here by the solo violin, whose highest string was “wrongly” tuned a half step lower. Instead of the perfect fifth A-E, the violin is now tuned to the devil’s interval, A-E-flat, the “diabolus in musica". In this arrangement, the devil plays on a Schnarrkopf Flute (buzzing headjoint) instead of an out-of-tune violin. The midnight ringing of the bell at the cemetery is sounded by the bass flute, the graves open up, and the skeletons of the dead must dance to the melody of the devil’s waltz until thecock crows at dawn (here portrayed by the piccolo), bringing an end to the nocturnal shadow display.
